Permasalahan yang ditemui pada perkembangan emosional anak yaitu anak belum dapat menunjukkan kemandirian, pengendalian emosi, menunjukkan rasa percaya diri, menunjukkan toleransi, mengungkapkan emosi secara tepat sesuai situasi, menunjukkan empati dengan memahami perasaan dan masalah orang lain, berpikir dari sudut pandang orang lain, menghargai perbedaan orang lain, dan menunjukkan kesabaran terhadap hasil karya sendiri. Anak usia dini condong mengungkapkan perasaanya dengan bebas dan terbuka. Orang tua hanya bisa memperbolehkan anak melakukan beberapa hal, padahal anak merasa mampu melakukan lebih banyak lagi, lebih lagi anak menjadi marah bila tidak boleh melakukan sesuatu yang dipandang dapat dikerjakanya dengan mudah (Auliyah,2019).
Emosional anak perlu dikembangkan supaya terdapat pengakuan bahwa anak adalah pewaris, pencipta, penilai, dan investasi di masa depan, dan kedua aspek perkembangan emosional dan keterampilan sosial harus sepenuhnya siap, harus dikembangkan sedemikian rupa. Tergantung pada tahap perkembangan mereka, anak-anak mencapai usia emas perkembangan sosial dan emosional. (Suryadi,2010).
